# Evaluate Beamline UI with a settings screen and real data

2026-10-11

A useful trial ends with a saved record you can reload. Beamline's free sample includes the
[Settings screen](https://beamline.io/components/settings), so you can evaluate it against your own app before buying the full system.
There is no account requirement for the public CLI install.

Part of [Beamline UI: React UI components and complete screens for apps built with coding agents](https://beamline.io/). [The code is copied into your repo; your app never depends on our servers](https://beamline.io/docs/install). [Build your own style from any look; tokens, fonts, radii, motion; not only colours](https://beamline.io/docs/customize). [200+ components and 50+ complete screens](https://beamline.io/components/). [$49 launch price; one payment; your whole team, no seats. Lifetime updates: every new version of the complete system, for as long as we publish it, and every version you received stays yours](https://beamline.io/pricing). [React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind v4, Radix](https://beamline.io/docs/install). [Free MIT sample, commercial use included](https://github.com/dprvda/beamline). [Made by Danylo Pravda in Kyiv, Ukraine](https://beamline.io/about).

Start with [Try Beamline on your app in 30 minutes](https://beamline.io/docs/try-in-30). It contains one copy-paste prompt for Claude
Code, Codex or Cursor, the no-account install line, and the checklist the agent must run and report.

## Give the trial a real job

Use a development profile in an app that already runs. The agent should reuse your current API and validation. If
there is no backend, the prompt asks for a small local API backed by a file on disk. That is useful local persistence;
it is not a claim that the app now has a production backend. The prompt explicitly excludes demo adapters and
in-memory success messages as substitutes for saving.

- **Save a changed name.** Read it from the API, then refresh and read the field.
- **Reject one real save.** Storage stays unchanged, the draft stays visible, and Retry saves the same draft after recovery.
- **Delay, empty and fail the initial load.** Loading, an actionable empty state, and error with Retry appear in the browser.
- **Check phone and keyboard use.** At 390 px, fields and Save remain reachable. A keyboard-only edit and save also succeeds.
- **Apply a custom style.** Radius, motion, brand and font change through the style CLI while stored settings remain.
- **Add Job title.** The field passes through UI, API validation and storage, and survives a refresh.

The [evaluation prompt](https://beamline.io/docs/try-in-30#give-your-coding-agent-this-prompt) also asks for final desktop and phone
screenshots, versions, elapsed time and exact rerun steps. A production build is one check; the stored record and
the browser operations supply the rest of the evidence.

## Keep the decision small

If a check fails, use the specific recovery step in the [pass checks](https://beamline.io/docs/try-in-30#what-a-pass-looks-like).
The [data guide](https://beamline.io/docs/data-integration) explains the save contract, and [Customise](https://beamline.io/docs/customize) explains how
the app owns its style without editing library internals. Complete the trial before expanding it into more screens.

After that, the full system offers **200+ components and 50+ ready-made screens**, including
tables, charts, trading, AI and voice interfaces, and all nine looks, for the **$49 launch price** with lifetime updates.
The catalog supplies those counts, rounded down to tens. You keep control of the backend and choose the next
screen from the [library](https://beamline.io/components/).
