Tailwind Plus alternatives for React in 2026

On 9 September 2026 Tailwind Labs joined Shopify and closed sign-ups for its paid products. Everyone who already bought Tailwind Plus keeps access; nobody new can buy it. Tailwind CSS itself stays free and MIT. If you are starting a React app now, this page names the kits that do the jobs Tailwind Plus did, what they cost as of 9 October 2026, and where each part you used lives in Beamline.

Already a Tailwind Plus customer? Keep using it: your access stays, and nothing here is a reason to move a working app.

Where your Tailwind Plus app parts live in Beamline

Tailwind Plus's own catalogue sits behind sign-in since it closed, so this table goes by the job each part did. Every link opens the part live, in all nine looks.

you used it for in Beamline
the app frame: sidebar, top bar, user menu App shell, Sidebar, User menu
page headings with actions Page header
forms: inputs, selects, toggles, radio cards Form, Input, Combobox, Switch, Radio cards
sign-in and registration Sign-in, Sign-up form, OTP input
tables, lists and stats Table, Data grid, Item, Metric card
modals, drawers, notifications Dialog, Sheet, Toast, Notification center
the command palette Command menu
tabs, breadcrumbs, pagination, steps Tabs, Breadcrumb, Pagination, Stepper
empty states and alerts Empty state, Alert
settings and dashboard screens Settings, Analytics dashboard
pricing Plan comparison, Billing toggle

Beamline also has the parts that app kits usually leave to you: trading (order book, depth, order ticket), AI agents (streamed answers, reasoning, tool calls, approvals) and voice (the agent's orb, live transcript, microphone states).

Move a screen with your agent

Connect your agent once, then send it this from the app's folder:

This screen was built with Tailwind Plus. Rebuild it with Beamline: call beamline_capabilities, map every
field and pattern to the most specific Beamline part and write the table into BEAMLINE.md, install them
with one beamline_install, keep my data, routes and handlers as they are, then run the audit and fix every
FIX line. Keep the old file until I have compared the two.

The agent reads what each part is for, installs only what the screen needs, and checks the result; the agent setup guide shows each step. Your Tailwind classes keep working beside it: Beamline does not need Tailwind, and a className you pass lands on the part's root and wins over its own styles.

When something else is the better choice

  • You build marketing pages at volume: Untitled UI's sections and Figma kit cover far more of that than Beamline.
  • You want everything free and open, or you want to own the design system yourself: shadcn/ui.
  • Your app is Vue, Svelte or plain HTML: Beamline is React 19 only.
  • You need Firefox and Safari verified today: Beamline is exercised in Chromium so far (known limitations).
